20Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong (Distance – 100 Km)
Welcome to Guwahati! Gateway to the seven sisters and the largest city in Assam.
On arrival, we will proceed to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya and a serene hill station also known as “The Scotland of the East” owing its similarity to the Scottish highlands.
Upon arrival to Shillong, check into hotel and rest of the time is yours at leisure.
Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji – Shillong (Distance – 110 Km)
Today, we will proceed to Cherrapunji after breakfast. Cherrapunji, currently known by the traditional name Sohra is the wettest place on Earth and nestled in the East Khasi Hills.
Here we will see Nohkalikai Falls, which flows through the pristine forests of a hill and its beauty is worth to admire throughout the year.
Later visit the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge, partly manmade structures by the Khasi tribe. Seven sisters falls is a cluster of seven falls stream which symbolize the seven states of North-East, bliss to witness its beauty.
Also visit Eco Park and Mawsmai Cave. Eco Park is a serene place and one can enjoy a lovely view of the ‘Green Canyons’ of Cherrapunji. The views from here are simply breath taking and it also has vast variety of indigenous orchids.
At the end of the day we will proceed back to Shillong.
Day 3: Shillong – Mawlynnong - Shillong (Distance – 150 Km)
Today we will proceed to Mawlynnong, the tiny village that crowns a title of “Asia’s cleanest village” which it won in 2003. The village is referred to as 'God's Own Garden' and is commended for its community-based eco-tourism initiative.
The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a sight of natural balancing rock and is an ideal spot to take a leisure stroll around this tiny natural beauty.
Later we will proceed to Dawki, located on India-Bangladesh border. It will provide you a serene view and also add memories that you can cherish forever. You can enjoy a sweeping view of Bangladesh from here. Enjoy boating at the clean Dawki River with scenic surroundings.
Then we will route back to Shillong and relax.
Day 4: Shillong
Let’s explore this beautiful hill station today. Visit Ward’s Lake, an artificial lake surrounded by lush green gardens, the pathway of which makes an ideal spot for a leisure walk. Adjacent to it is Botanical Garden; a huge exquisite array of flora life bestows an enchanting beauty.
Then visit India’s one of oldest golf course, located in a scenic valley surrounded by pine and rhododendron trees. Owing to its greenery and scenic beauty, the United States Golf Association and Museum has given it the title of 'Gleneagles of the East'. Let’s learn about the lifestyle and cultural diversity of various tribes of Meghalaya at State Museum and get glimpses of wooden crafts, tribal dresses, exquisite ornaments, traditional weapons, utensils, pottery items and musical instruments of Jaintia and Khasi tribes.
Relax yourself at Lady Hydari Park, beautifully designed in a Japanese garden style and only park that has a mini zoo with many birds, reptiles and mammals.
Then we will see the prettiness of Elephant Falls, a 3 tier waterfall, flanked by lush greenery which adds to the charm of the place. At the end enjoy the enchanting views of the entire Shillong city, surrounding waterfalls, the Himalayan Range, Bangladesh Plains and the lush greenery nearby from Shillong Peak.
Day 5: Shillong - Guwahati (Distance – 100 Km)
It’s time to get ready for your return journey after breakfast.
We will proceed for Guwahati to take a train / flight for onward journey to your hometown.
