20Day 1: Chennai – Pondicherry (Distance – 170 km)
Welcome to Chennai, Formerly known as Madras and is the capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu.
On arrival, proceed directly to Pondicherry.
Check into hotel and rest of the time is yours at leisure.
Stroll along the Promenade beach and enjoy the French vibes.
Day 2: Pondicherry
Today, after breakfast, visit Aurobindo Ashram, perfect for those who seek divinity.
Then visit Aurobindo Handmade Paper factory which makes and sells eco-friendly handmade paper in various colors. Seek blessings at Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple and Manakula Vinayagar temple which are the famous for its amazing architecture.
Then relax yourself at Botanical Gardens, laid out in 1826 in ornate French style, with pruned trees, beautiful flower beds and gravel lined paths and fountains.
Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is another attraction, Its Gothic appearance appeals the tourists with rose windows, twin pinnacles, commanding façade.
Then experience the famous Auroville town, a place dedicated to the ideal of human unity based on the vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.
Spend some time meditating at Maitri Mandir and take a walk around the town.
Day 3: Pondicherry – Mahabalipuram (Distance – 100 km)
Mahabalipuram is on the list for the day, a place which is one of the oldest cities in India.
Present day, it is known for its great monuments, cave sanctuaries and sculptures.
Here, visit shore temple named as it overlooks the Bay of Bengal, and also take a look around at Pancha Rath is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture.
The complex was carved during the reign of King Narasimhavarman I.
Later visit Varah Caves, Arjuna's Penance and Krishna's Butter Ball.
Evening is at leisure.
Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Chennai (Distance – 60 km)
Today, after breakfast, get ready for your return journey as you will proceed to Chennai.
