20Day 1: Paro – Thimphu (Distance – 50 Km)
Welcome to Paro, a small town situated in the Paro Valley.
On arrival, you will be transferred to Thimphu.
Check into hotel and rest of the time is yours at leisure.
Day 2: Thimpu
Welcome to Thimphu, known as the heart of Bhutan and "Third Highest Capital of the World".
After breakfast visit Buddha Dordenma, a giant golden Shakyamuni Buddha gold-plated statue.
Also see the Memorial Chorten (Monument), a place that would give you an insight into Buddhism through its great artwork, wall carvings and marvelous sculptures.
Get an insight into the culture of Bhutan under one roof in Folk Heritage Museum.
In the later part of the day, visit simply Bhutan, a one-of-its kind "living" museum, visitors get to enjoy the Bhutanese songs, folk dances.
Then see a Sangaygang View Point, surrounded by lush green pine forest and colorful prayer flags, it offers a fantastic view of the entire Thimphu city.
Before that see a Tashichho Dzong view point from where you can see the beautiful King’s Palace.
Day 3: Excursion to Punakha /Wangdue
Start an excursion to Punakha / Wangdue today.
On the way stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 mts.) to view the higher Himalayas; visit Punakha Dzong - built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government.
The Dzong was named Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness).
Then visit wooden suspension bridge which offers a spectacular view of the river and valley.
After that take a short and easy hike to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang - The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “The Devine Mad Man”.
Overnight at Punakha / Wangdue.
Day 4: Paro
Continue your journey to Paro after breakfast.
On the way, take a stop at Lamperi to visit Royal Botanical Park which is A Nature Lover’s Delight with rich vegetation and the main highlight of the Lamperi botanical garden is the rhododendrons.
On arrival, check into hotel and relax.
In afternoon visit Ta Dzong - National Museum which Flaunting art and traditions, it has six floors, each of them narrating a unique tale from the past. Later take an exquisite view of the entire city at Bird’s Eye View Point.
At the end of the day visit Rinpung Dzong - Meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". Beautifully lit-up at night, the dzong has many illustrations portraying the life of Buddha.
Day 5: Paro
After breakfast, hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery - called “Tiger’s Nest”. Located 900 meters above the upper cliff in the Paro Valley, this monastery is undoubtedly an architectural marvel.
Later visit Drukgyel Dzong, a fortress which was built in 1649 to mark the victory of Bhutan over Tibet and now a UNESCO structure.
Also visit Kyichu Monastery, a beautiful monastery, also known as Lho Kyerchu or Kyerchu Temple, built in 7th century.
Day 6: Paro
It’s time to get ready for your return journey as your memorable journey ends with Happy Memories…
