20Day 1: Siem Reap
Welcome to Seim Reap, the gateway to the largest religious monument in the world.
On arrival you will you will be transferred to your hotel.
Check in to hotel and get freshen up.
Rest of the day is yours at leisure.
Day 2: Siem Reapv
Today, post breakfast, we will explore the gems of the ancient Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire.
At Angkor complex, we will see the Bayon Temple, a state temple of king Jayavarman VII built in 12th century. Its distinctive feature is enormous smiling faces carved out on stones and bas reliefs that depicts the war and social life of Khmer people from that era.
Then see the Terrace of the Elephants which is a grand viewing platform for King with beautifully carved out elephants. Terrace of the Leper King is to the north of Terrace of the Elephants has carvings of dragons, demons and various mythical beings.
Explore the other ruins like Royal Palace Area and Phimeanakas - impressive rite and sandstone pyramid.
Later we will visit Ta Prohm, a Rajvihara founded by king Jayavarman VII. You will be amazed to see an astonishing merger of nature and architecture.
After Lunch we will visit the Grand Angkor Wat, built by the Khmer king Suryavarman II in 12th century and dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
The architecture of the temple is designed to represent Mount Meru which is a home to Gods according to Hindu Mythology.
Day 3: Siem Reap
Let’s learn about the miserable side in the history of Cambodia today as we will visit Killing Fields, also known as Wat Thmey and pay respect to the victims of Cambodia's genocide.
The temple holds a dark past and a horrendous history of the Khmer Rouge's cruel regime and its terror. Visit "Les Artisans d'Angkor - Chantiers Ecole" the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts. You can buy souvenirs for your loved ones.
After lunch enjoy a serene ambience at Tonle Sap Lake where you will get chance to ride in a traditional wooden boat.
Observe the life of locals unfolding around the largest lake in Asia. Wat Bo, a highly respected pagoda founded in the 18th century, contains very unique wall paintings of the Reamker (Ramayana) that are said to be from late 19th century.
Then you will be taken to the local Old Market in Siem Reap where you can enjoy the shopping of local things, taste the delicious food and explore the unseen.
Day 4: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh
Today we will continue our journey to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.
On arrival check into hotel and relax.
Later in evening we will head for Psar Tuol Tom Pong or Russian Market as it is called. Indulge yourself in shopping and buy some memories.
Day 5: Phnom Penh
After breakfast, explore the beautiful city with a day tour.
We will visit Tuol Sleng prison which later turned into a museum, also called as S-21 is a place where torture and execution centers established by the Khmer Rouge.
The visiting experience is made ever more visceral by the displayed photographic evidence hanging on the walls of the sparse cells next to empty beds.
Then we will visit Cambodia’s Royal Palace which offers intriguing insight into Cambodia’s past and present. The ornate building attracts everyone with its golden shades with well-crafted grounds. Adjacent to it is a Silver Pagoda, named after tons of silver used on the floors of this structure.
The prime attractions are the Buddha statues studded with glimmering gold and diamonds.
Take a stop at Independence Monument, constructed during 1958 to commemorate the independence of Cambodia from France in 1953.
At last visit National Museum where you can see collections of Khmer art, including sculptural, Khmer ceramics, bronzes, and ethnographic objects.
Day 6: Phnom Penh
It’s time to get ready for your return journey.
You will be transferred to the airport after breakfast.
